Celebrating the first UK heats of the World Tapas Competition

We were incredibly proud to sponsor the inaugural UK Heats of the World Tapas Competition, a prestigious global culinary event that showcases creativity and exceptional talent in small-plate cuisine.

Congratulations to Simon Coulter of ESS, who took home first place and will go on to represent the UK in the World Tapas Finals in Spain. We also extend our applause to the two outstanding runners-up: Alan Paton of Chartwells and Elliott Tibbins of Mitchells & Butlers.

We’re especially proud of Elliott Tibbins, who was nominated for the competition by our very own foodservice team. His remarkable dish, ‘Les Halles’, inspired by his first taste of beef tartare in New York, captivated the judges with its bold flavour, artistry and storytelling. Elliott’s achievement has earned him a place on an exclusive culinary tour of Madrid and Valladolid,where he’ll cheer on Simon at the world finals. 

Supporting the UK Heats of this global competition has been a privilege. Watching 12 exceptionally talented chefs bring their concepts to life was nothing short of inspiring with each dish a true culinary masterpiece.
